Junk Food Alert: Protect Your Smile!  Junk foods also referred to as fast foods are rich in sugar and acidic content and damage your dental health. Consumption of such foods not only affects oral hygiene but causes cavities, staining of teeth, and gum disease, among others.  

Owing to that, you risk losing your smile, as these foods affect your teeth, gums, enamel, and more. Falling under the heading of junk food are also French fries, soda, candies, coffee, and alcohol because they also cause serious dental disorders like tooth decay. Tooth decay, in turn, affects your overall health.  

To avoid all such complications and retain your smile and a healthy jawbone, embrace certain practices. For instance, when consuming beverages, even healthy ones, such as fruit juices, make use of straws to prevent discoloration of teeth.   

Certain areas in your teeth are tough for you to reach when you brush. To protect these areas, use mouthwash and floss. Flossing can help you get rid of plaque and even whiten areas that you can’t reach normally.  

Avoid or reduce smoking or chewing tobacco. Tobacco stains your teeth badly, besides causing other oral health problems. When you brush, choose a proper toothpaste to protect and whiten your teeth. If possible, brush twice a day to keep your teeth healthy.
